Horses are often inaccessible due to their steep price, and Sarah's mission is to share the healing power of horses with the community free of charge. Our program warmly welcomes individuals from all walks of life. From children experiencing mild stress at school, to adults going through trauma or grief, our team of horses and humans is here to support you by bringing joy, building confidence, practicing mindfulness and expressing emotions through body language . Each class is 30 minutes long where students will learn all about horses, engaging in activities like grooming, leading, and understanding their behavior. Classes do not include time in the saddle. This hands-on experience not only fosters a connection with these majestic animals but also teaches valuable life skills such as empathy, patience, and communication. As you immerse yourself in the world of horses, you'll find a peaceful retreat that nurtures your mental and emotional well-being, leaving you refreshed and empowered.
Learn to communicate with a horse using mindfulness and body language! Identify a horses emotions through observing their movements and influence them through your yours! This process is highly calming and therapeutic.
Listen to a horses heart, lungs, and stomach with a real stethoscope, and be able to identify different types of illness! You'll be taught about medications, warping injuries, and how to identify lamenesses.
Learn how to confidently guide a horse through an obstacle course, over bridges, and under trees. You will be taught how to use our horses' equipment and tie various equestrian knots as well.
Clean out a horses' hooves with a hoof pick! Make their coats shine with our various grooming tools. You will also be able to brush and braid a horses mane and tail!
Learn how to talk like a horseman, to identify different breeds, colors, and markings, body parts, equipment, and all things horse!
Advanced students will learn training methods, make horses move at a fast pace, give a horse a massage, and so much more!

Parent participation is generally not required, but we ask that parents not stray so they can help if a behavior concern arises.
The lessons are on a farm with rocky terrain, so we could NOT accommodate a wheelchair or those who struggle to ambulate Also, clients need to be able to communicate effectively. For safety reasons we cannot work with clients who have a history of outbursts.
Yes, we purchase liability insurance for therapeutic equestrian services.
